We’ve just launched a new series of posts on the fashion industry, called All AIs on Fashion. It’s a radical reimagining of how fashion industry insiders and observers could understand what’s going on across the huge range of activity in the world of fashion using advanced visual reasoning.
What’s It All About

In each report, we’re looking at a given sector or trend from the world of fashion across a range of brands and segments. Our goal is to see if technology can cover everything you’d want to keep a pulse in but would never have the time to follow. So, our AI looks at everything, so you can understand the highlights. Our lens is focused on the industry as a whole, the movements in the market and broader world events impacting how collections are designed and brought to market.
How We Do It
The TL;DR is that our AIs keep a pulse on everything going on in fashion. We are regularly analyzing the latest collections and promotions from a wide range of sources, using state-of-the-art AI models that are fine-tuned to understand fashion specifically. All of this technology makes it possible to be far more comprehensive in our reporting than any working person has time to be. This data-driven approach also means that everything in our reports is backed by real market data.
What it Looks Like

Our focus is on understanding fashion and then making that understanding useful and actionable. So, our visuals are not screenshots of eCom listings or runway shows. Instead, we generate visuals to match our understanding of overall trends. This is using AI to show what the AI understands about fashion. While these images are never precise replicas of pieces from specific brands, we strive to ensure that our imagery always represents the underlying fashion trends accurately to help you see what’s going on across a range of brands.
Why We’re Doing This
This work is a sort of public experiment. We believe that state-of-the-art AI has already progressed to the point of being useful to basically everyone in their day-to-day work. Specifically within the fashion industry, we think that everyone from designers to merchandisers to marketers could use more tools built just for their work. Or in fashion terms, even Andy Sachs deserves her own Andy Sachs (in AI form).
What Comes Next

Our first report is on the surprisingly complex category of knitwear. Following that, we’ll be doing other experiments and reports, so please subscribe to see where we go next. Our hope is to explore broadly, so expect a wide range of future topics for reports. Hit subscribe if you want to see our upcoming reports as they’re released.
I Have More Thoughts
Do you think we should be approaching things differently? Did you spot an error? Do you have a great idea for what we should look at next time? Reach out with any feedback.
Hi! 😊 Don't know if you might be interested but I love to write about sustainability (fashion, travel and our relationship with clothes). I'm a thrift shopping and vintage clothing lover who likes to explore the impact textile industry and consumistic culture have on the environment and also what people can do to shift the tendency.
